"bio_short": "Chris Bell (January 12, 1951–December 27, 1978) was a singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in Memphis, Tennessee. Along with <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Alex+Chilton\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Alex Chilton</a>, he led the power pop band <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Big+Star\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Big Star</a>, which recorded albums during the early 1970s. Chris Bell left the group after their first album, <a title=\"Big Star - #1 Record\" href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Big+Star/%25231%2BRecord\" class=\"bbcode_album\">#1 Record</a>, but contributed some music and lyrics to their second LP, 1974's <a title=\"Big Star - Radio City\" href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Big+Star/Radio+City\" class=\"bbcode_album\">Radio City</a>. He recorded as a solo artist for the remainder of the 1970s; two of these influential solo recordings, "<a title=\"Chris Bell – I Am The Cosmos\" href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Chris+Bell/_/I+Am+The+Cosmos\" class=\"bbcode_track\">I Am The Cosmos</a>" and "<a title=\"Chris Bell – You And Your Sister\" href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Chris+Bell/_/You+And+Your+Sister\" class=\"bbcode_track\">You And Your Sister</a>," were released on a 1978 single on Car Records.",
