The band (named <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Loud+Fast+Rules\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Loud Fast Rules</a> up until 1984) quickly became frontrunners of American college rock, following in the tradition of fellow Minnesota bands <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/H%C3%BCsker+D%C3%BC\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Hüsker Dü</a> and <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/The+Replacements\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">The Replacements</a>. Landing their first record deal with Twin/Tone in 1984, Soul Asylum recorded a total of four albums for the local label: Say What You Will... Everything Can Happen in 1984 (later reissued as <span title=\"Unknown album\" class=\"bbcode_unknown\">Say What You Will, Clarence.</span>",
