They played an important role in the development of <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/tag/speed\" class=\"bbcode_tag\" rel=\"tag\">speed</a> metal and Teutonic <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/tag/thrash%20metal\" class=\"bbcode_tag\" rel=\"tag\">thrash metal</a>, being part of the German heavy/speed/<a href=\"http://www.last.fm/tag/power%20metal\" class=\"bbcode_tag\" rel=\"tag\">power metal</a> scene to emerge in the early to mid 1980s along with bands such as <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Helloween\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Helloween</a>, <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Running+Wild\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Running Wild</a>, <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Grave+Digger\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Grave Digger</a>, <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Sinner\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Sinner</a>, and <a href=\"http://www.last.fm/music/Rage\" class=\"bbcode_artist\">Rage</a>. The band's 1983 album, Balls to the Wall, subsequently became their most successful release, featuring its well-known hit with the same title.
