Just Rem[A]ember that you're st[Amaj7]anding
on a pl[A6]anet that's ev[A]olving
and revolving at nine [A6]hundred miles an h[E7]our.
That's orbiting at ni[Bm7]neteen miles a se[E7]cond, so its re[Bm7]ckoned,
a s[E7]un that is the s[Bm7]orce of all our p[A]ower.
The sun and you and m[Amaj7]e
and all the s[A6]tars that we can s[A]ee,
are moving at a mi[F#7]llion miles a da[Bm]y.
In and outer spiral a[B7sus4]rm
at forty th[A]ousand miles an h[F#7]our,
in the ga[Bm]laxy we ca[E7]ll the Milky W[A]ay.
Our ga[A]laxy itse[Amaj7]lf contains a hu[A6]ndred billion st[A]ars,
Its a hundred thousand li[A6]ght years side to [E7]side.
It bulges in the mi[Bm7]ddle 16,00[E7]0 light years thi[Bm7]ck
but out by u[E7]s it's just 3,00[Bm7]0 light years w[A]ide.
We're thirty thousand li[Amaj7]ght years from gal[A6]actic central po[A]int,
we go 'round every two hu[F#7]ndred million ye[Bm]ars.
And our galaxy is on[B7sus4]ly one of mi[A]llons of bil[F#7]lions
in this a[Bm]mazing and expa[E7]nding uni[A]verse.
The Uni[A]vers it[Amaj7]self keeps on expa[A6]nding and exp[A]anding,
in all of the di[A6]rections it can wh[E7]izz.
As fast as it can g[Bm7]o, the spe[E7]ed of light you [Bm7]know.
12 mill[E7]ion miles a mi[Bm7]nute and that's the fa[A]stest speed there is.
So, remember when you're fe[Amaj7]eling very sma[A6]ll and insec[A]ure,
how amazingly unl[F#7]ikely is your bi[Bm]rth.
And pray that there's int[B7sus4]elligent life some[A]where up in sp[F#7]ace,
'cause there's b[Bm]ugger all d[E7]own here on e[A]arth
Just Remember that you're standing
on a planet that's evolving
and revolving at nine hundred miles an hour.
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so its reckoned,
a sun that is the sorce of all our power.
The sun and you and me
and all the stars that we can see,
are moving at a million miles a day.
In and outer spiral arm
at forty thousand miles an hour,
in the galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars,
Its a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle 16,000 light years thick
but out by us it's just 3,000 light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point,
we go 'round every two hundred million years.
And our galaxy is only one of millons of billions
in this amazing and expanding universe.
The Univers itself keeps on expanding and expanding,
in all of the directions it can whizz.
As fast as it can go, the speed of light you know.
12 million miles a minute and that's the fastest speed there is.
So, remember when you're feeling very small and insecure,
how amazingly unlikely is your birth.
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'cause there's bugger all down here on earth
