[D]It's cherry p[Bm]ink and apple b[Em7]lossom wh[A7]ite
[Em7]When your true l[A7]over comes your w[D]ay;
[D]It's cherry p[Bm]ink and apple b[Em7]lossom wh[G/B]ite,     [A7]the poets s[D]ay.

[D]The story g[Bm]oes that once a [Em7]cherry t[A7]ree
[Em7]Beside an a[A7]pple tree did g[D]row;
[D]And there a b[Bm]oy once met his [Em7]bride-to[G/B]-be l    [A7]ong    [Em7]long     [A7]a - g[D]o.

The [D6]boy looked [A7]into her eyes -- it was a [Gdim]sight to ent[D]hrall.
The breezes [A7/6]joined in their s[A7]ighs, the blossoms [Gdim]started to f[D]all,
And as they [D6]gently carr[A7]essed, the lovers [Gdim]looked up to f[D]ind
The branches[A7/6] of the two t[A7]rees were intertw[D]ined.

[D]And that is w[Bm]hy the poets [Em7]always wr[A7]ite
[Em7]If there's a n[A7]ew moon bright ab[D]ove,
[D]It's cherry p[Bm]ink and apple bl[Em7]ossom wh[G/B]ite w    [A7]hen    [Em7]you're [A7]in lo[D]ve.

It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
When your true lover comes your way;
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white, the poets say.

The story goes that once a cherry tree
Beside an apple tree did grow;
And there a boy once met his bride-to-be long long a - go.

The boy looked into her eyes -- it was a sight to enthrall.
The breezes joined in their sighs, the blossoms started to fall,
And as they gently carressed, the lovers looked up to find
The branches of the two trees were intertwined.

And that is why the poets always write
If there's a new moon bright above,
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white when you're in love.
