Höfundur lags: Hank Williams Jr. Flytjandi: Hank Williams Jr. Sent inn af: Anonymous

[G]The preacher man says its the [Dm]end of time
And the [C]Mississippi River she´s a [G]going dry
The interest is up and the [Dm]stock markets down
And you [C]only get mugged if you [G]go down town

I live back in the [Dm]woods you see
My [C]woman and the kids and the [G]dogs and me
I got a shotgun a rifle and a [Dm]four wheel drive
And a [C]country boy [Dm]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country folks [C]can sur[G]vive

I can plow a field [Dm]all day long
I can [C]catch catfish from [G]dusk till dawn
We make our own whiskey and our [Dm]own smoke too
Ain't [C]too many things these ole [G]boys can't do
We grow good ole tomatoes and [Dm]homemade wine
And a [C]country boy [Dm]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country folks [C]can sur[G]vive

Because you [C]can't starve us out and you [A#]can't make us run
Cause [F]when them ole boy raised [C]on shotgun
We say grace and [A#]we say ma'am
If you [F]ain't into that we [C]don't give a damn

We came from the West [Dm]Virginia coal mines
And the [C]Rocky Mountains and the [G]western skies
And we can skin a buck we can [Dm]run a trot line
And a [C]country boy [Dm]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country folks [C]can sur[G]vive

I had a good friend in [Dm]New York City
He [C]never called me by my name [G]just Hillbilly
My GrandPa taught me to [Dm]live off the land
And [C]his taught him to be a [G]business man

He used to send me pictures of the [Dm]Broadway Night
And [C]I'd send him some [G]homemade wine
But he was killed by a man with a [Dm]switch blade knife
For [C]forty three dollars my [G]friend lost his life

I'd love to spit some Beechnut in [Dm]that dudes eye
And [C]shoot em' with my ole [G]45
Cause a [Dm]country boy [C]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country folks [C]can sur[G]vive

Because you can't [C]starve us out and you can't [A#]make us run
Cause [F]when them ole boy raised [C]on shotgun
We say grace and [A#]we say ma'am
If you [F]ain't into that we [C]don't give a damn

Were from North California and [Dm]South Alabam
And [C]little towns all [G]around this land
And we can skin a buck and [Dm]run a trot line
And a [C]country boy [Dm]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country folks [C]can sur[G]vive
[Dm]Country boy [C]can sur[G]vive
